Jack Canfield is told he has a terminal illness and weeks to live. On Christmas Eve Jack sees his wife, Lizzie, kissing their neighbour. Jack confronts Lizzie who is distraught, leaves the house in an ice storm, and is killed in road accident. Jack, overcome by grief, is taken to a hospice and his children move to the West Coast to live with family. Then a miracle occurs; Jack starts to recover, eventually leaving hospital with no evidence of illness. Unexpectedly, the family inherits a beautiful villa in South Carolina. In Lizzie’s childhood home, Jack feels a closeness to his dead wife and he know that here he has a chance to rebuild his relationship with his children, perhaps even with Lizzie’s help.
