We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a grant from the Big Lottery Fund.

This award will enable us to run a series of introductory computer courses over the next few months, a weekly craft session for primary school children in this year's summer holiday, and a programme of cultural and literary events in the coming year.  Keep looking out for further details as they are released.

Frank Hindle, chair of the volunteers who run Low Fell Library, says, “This grant is really good news – it will allow us to increase the services that we can provide to the local community, and it will help secure the future of the library over the next year or more. We know that many of the people who already use our computers are interested in improving their skills and knowledge, and this grant will enable us to offer free training by a professional tutor to current and new library users, while the funding for children’s craft sessions and literary events means we can continue and expand on the activities and events we have been able to provide over the last two years.”
