Ring & Read returns March 29thWe are pleased to announce that, from Monday 29th of March we will reintroduce the click and collect
service we call 'Ring & Read' by telephone, online and by email. Photocopying
will still be available. Sadly, during this period of on-going Covid-19 restrictions we are not yet able to open for in-person browsing nor public computer access. We will continue to waive all fines that fall due
during and after lockdown. We will update our website and send out our
newsletter by email as we update our plans. We would be grateful if you would
pass on our news to those of our customers without digital access.
Why not collect a bag of books from the library
while you are out for exercise or essential shopping.
How to use and access Ring&Read and our current
opening hours are detailed below.
Thankyou for your patience during this difficult
time.

Low Fell Library will continue to offer our 'ring and read' which allows
you to request up to 6 books, giving details of the kind you like and our
librarians will select appropriate titles which you can collect when
convenient. All you will need to do is fill in the online form by
clicking Ring&Read, email us
at lowfelllibrary@gateshead.gov.uk or ring 0191 433 6408 during our revised hours and tell us about the sort of books you
like to read. We will choose some books for you and let you know when you can
collect them. We are happy to choose books for each member of your family too -
if you have children we will supply age appropriate titles for them.
Unfortunately, we are not able to accept requests for specific titles at this
stage.
Library books may also be returned from this date and there are no fines
to pay. Remember to have your library ticket to hand when you ring or fill in
the form!
We are unable to provide a delivery service however, if you are
shielding at home you may request a doorstep delivery in exactly the same way
from Gateshead Council-run Libraries.
Please check our Facebook account and website for more updates.
*Not everyone is online - if you know anyone who might be interested but
not digital please pass on details of accessing this service by telephone*
