This psychological thriller is a perfect example of chaos theory; the theory that small changes can eventually have unpredictable and potentially major consequences. In this novel life intervenes in several places, with consequences that were neither planned nor sought.
Heidi sees a teenage girl on a train platform, clutching an infant in her arms. She continues with her journey, but can’t forget the girl.
Heidi has always been charitable, but to her family’s dismay, she returns home one day with the girl, Willow, and her baby and invites her to take refuge there. Clues about Willow’s past begin to surface and Heidi is forced to decide how far she is willing to go to help a stranger…
This chance encounter at a station entangles lives and the best of intentions are all too easily misconstrued and misdirected with serious consequences. Although the story line may be predictable if you have a devious mind, it is well written with the tension gradually building to its climax.
